A new report sheds light on how difficult it is to obtain an L-1B visa lately. (The L-1B visa is used to transfer workers with “specialized knowledge” from a company’s foreign office to its U.S. affiliate.) A National Foundation for American Policy report has found that the USCIS denial rate for L-1B visa petitions has increased to 35%. The rate of denial for extensions of L-1B visa status is even higher at 41%. Nearly half of all L-1B visa petitions received a Request for Evidence from USCIS seeking additional proof to establish an applicant’s eligibilty for L-1B visa staus.
