May 30th, 2014 by SRW Lawyers

USCIS has announced that beginning June 1, 2014 it will limit the validity of all Forms I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, to one year from the date of submission to USCIS. USCIS will also now require that applicants submit their Form I-693 to USCIS within one year of completing their medical examination. This updated policy will apply to any Form I-693 that USCIS adjudicates on or after June 1, 2014. For more information on USCIS’ new policy, please see http://go.usa.gov/8y9d

Generally, individuals filing for a green card under the Adjustment of Status process must undergo a medical exam to establish that they are not inadmissible to the United States based on public health grounds. Form I-693 is used to report the results of this medical examination to USCIS, and is submitted as part of the Adjustment of Status application.
